At Expedius Care, our admissions process ensures that every placement is safe, stable, and suited to each young person’s individual needs.
We follow the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards, focusing on care planning, safeguarding, and positive outcomes.

We welcome both planned and emergency placements and are committed to working collaboratively with placing authorities to achieve the best possible outcomes for every young person.
Our Admission Process

Step 1 – Assessment & Matching
We review each referral in detail to make sure we can meet the young person’s social, emotional, behavioural, and learning needs. We also assess compatibility within the home and determine appropriate staffing — including 1:1, 2:1, or solo support where required. -
Step 2 – Planning & Partnership
Once a suitable home is identified, we create a personalised Placement Plan aligned with the child’s overall Care Plan. We involve our specialist partners — therapists, educational psychologists, and health professionals — to ensure holistic support from day one. -
Step 3 – Transition & Admission
Moving into a new home can be a big change. We manage transitions with sensitivity — arranging visits, introductions, and gradual settling-in wherever possible. Emergency placements are assessed the same day and fully reviewed within 72 hours. -
Step 4 – Ongoing Review & Development
Progress is continuously monitored through key-worker sessions and multi-agency reviews. Placement and risk plans are updated as needs evolve to maintain stability, safety, and measurable progress toward independence.
